NOT MADE IN CHINA

SPEAK OF LOVE

TRAIN ROUGH

Spreading musical waves across the UK, Not Made in China are a quirky and fun musical experiment, promising an unforgettable performance, best described as “electric pop on acoustic guitars”.

Not Made In China were born in 2007 shortly after Tiff Wheaton-Green (vocals, guitar, tin whistle, kazoo) and Gavin Blackhall (vocals, piano/keys, bass) met and discovered their shared the same musical tastes and desires, quickly spinning a web of impressive lyrics and catchy melodies.

Their first steps into the musical world were taken with the release of their EP ‘Real to Reel’ in May 2008. The record is a stunning mixture of original and covered tracks, from the vibrant and catching sounds of ‘Speak of Love’, to the haunting piano notes of ‘The Bride’, to the famously covered track ‘Tell Me Ma”, which is uniquely stamped with a mixture of refreshing and lively sounds from the tin whistle, against the infectious and deep beats of the bass.

Both diverse and dynamic, this is no surprise when you take in to account this duo’s vast range of musical inspiration, which includes: Kate Bush, Kirsty MacColl, The Smiths, The Pogues, Billy Bragg, Sigur Ros, and many more. The group has a string of impressive performances to their name, including the Evolve Festival, Seafood festival, Boogie Woogie Music Festival, Forest FM, Vale FM and Ivel FM.
